BALL MILLS WITH HORIZONTAL AXIS AND ROD MILLS

Ball and rod mills are the most widespread for many kinds of grinding, the main reasons are:
- Possible grinding of very abrasive and hard materials with limited wear
- Possible grinding both of coarse grain-sizes 4-5 mm with big capacities, and of very fine grain-sizes under 10 µm through the same machine.
- Possible grinding without iron contamination
- maintenance limited to the addition of grinding bodies, and general maintenance planned with intervals of several thousands hours
- Easy running
- Simultaneous grinding and drying with very high thermic efficiency

BALL MILLS WITH HORIZONTAL AXIS AND ROD MILLSEhinger Impianti has been building continuous ball and rod mills, for dry and wet grinding for more than 50 years. The best technical and economic solution is chosen depending on the kind of grinding and the mill dimensions. For ball grinding we can choose between a cylindrical shell with one or more grinding chambers, and one with conical body, provided with one or more cones. Inside lining is in cast steel or rubber for particular requirements. Ball mills can also have alumina, steatite or quartz lining.
Balls: treated, very hard crucible steel; forged treated steel; alumina etc.
Cylpebs: as for the balls.
Rods: in high resistance treated steel.
Mills can be installed with open or closed circuits.
Mills from 4 kW up to 1000 kW are available.
